어쌔신 크리드 1편에서의 Sibrand.
시브란드(1157년 출생-1191년 사망)는 튜턴 기사단의 대장이자 성전 기사단의 숨겨진 일원이었다. 그는 어쌔신인 알타이르 이븐-라 아하드에게 살해당하는 9명의 성전 기사단원들 중 8번째이다.
다른 성전 기사단 동료들과 마찬가지로, 알 무알림이 시브란드를 죽이라고 명령했다. 시브란드는 1191년에 사망할 때까지 튜턴 기사단의 그랜드 마스터로서 아크레의 중류층 구역의 항구 지역을 관리했다.
Biography-일대기
By 1191, Sibrand had become the Grand Master of the Knights Teutonic. Having obtained this position of great power, Sibrand was desperate to remain in charge, and would do anything to prevent his power from slipping away.
1191년, 시브란드는 튜턴 기사단의 그랜드 마스터가 되었다. 시브란드는 막강한 권력을 지닌 자리를 얻게 되자 계속 권력을 쥐기 위해 필사적이었고, 권력이 벗어나지 않도록 수단방법을 가리지 않았다.
As he was incapable of securing his position, Sibrand became plagued by paranoia of conspiracies and plots against him, so much so that he unnecessarily doubled the patrols, and even threatened to pull knights from battle to protect him.
시브란드는 자신의 지위를 지킬 수 없게 되자 자신을 노리는 음모와 책략이 있다는 편집증에 걸렸고, 불필요하게 정찰대를 늘리거나 자신을 보호하기 위해 강제로 기사단원들을 전장에서 소환했다.
He remained consistently vigilant, searching for signs of trouble. He took control of the docks in the city of Acre, where he also acquired the services of many ships. He planned to use these vessels to form a blockade that would prevent the "fool" Kings and Queens from sending aid once the Templars initiated their plan to usurp control of the Holy Land.

Sibrand joined the Templars around this time, and was one of the men that guarded the Apple of Eden's secrets and capabilities.

Death-죽음
Having locked himself away in Acre's docks, Sibrand waited to perform his role in the "liberation" of the Holy Land. He patrolled the district, scolding two guards he came across, and threatening to double their shifts if they would not get back to their posts. Unknown to him, the Assassin Altaïr eavesdropped on him, to prepare for his assassination.
시브란드는 아크레의 항구에 틀어박히면서 성지의 "해방"한다는 자신의 역할을 수행하길 기다렸다. 그는 구역을 순찰하다가 마주친 두 명의 경비원들을 꾸짖고는 기지로 돌아갈 게 아니면 두 배로 교대하라고 협박한다. 시브란드는 몰랐지만 알타이르가 그 말을 엿듣고 그의 암살을 준비한다.
Sibrand then moved to the docks themselves and, remembering the white-robed Assassin that had been hunting his brothers, began to publicly abuse and torment a scholar, who was clothed similarly to the Assassins. After taunting and eventually killing the scholar, Sibrand warned the citizens not to aid the Assassins.
시브란드는 일행과 함께 항구로 간 뒤, 하얀 옷의 어쌔신이 자기 동료들을 사냥한다는 걸 기억하고는 어쌔신들과 유사한 옷을 입은 학자를 공공연히 구타하고 고문한다. 학자를 조롱하다 결국 죽여버린 후, 시브란드는 시민들에게 어쌔신을 돕지 말라고 경고한다.
Sibrand then donned his horned helmet, and set off for his personal ship, unaware that Altaïr was navigating his way through the docks, and towards his ship.
이후 시브란드는 자신의 뿔 달린 투구를 쓰고 자신의 배로 향하지만, 알타이르가 항구에서 그 길을 따라 배로 향한다는 걸 깨닫지 못한다.
In his manic refusal to be killed, the Templar began wildly firing arrows in every direction, all the while shouting loudly that he would take care of the Assassins himself if no one else would. Altaïr stealthily climbed aboard the ship as he did, and put an end to Sibrand's life.
시브란드가 죽기를 미친듯이 거절하자 성전 기사단원들이 모든 방향에서 화살을 퍼붓고, 그는 아무도 어쌔신을 처리하지 않으면 자신이 직접 하겠다고 소리친다. 알타이르는 그가 배에 올라타자 몰래 배에 매달리고, 시브란드의 목숨을 끝장낸다.
With his last breath, Sibrand explained the role assigned to him by the Brotherhood, and claimed that he had proof that nothing waited for him after his life. Having told the Assassin all he knew, Sibrand perished.
시브란드는 죽기 직전에 기사단 내에서 자신이 맡기로 한 역할을 설명하고, 내세엔 아무것도 없다는 증거를 얻었다고 주장한다. 시브란드는 자신이 아는 걸 모두 어쌔신에게 알려준 후 사망한다.
시브란드는 튜턴 기사단의 그랜드 마스터로 임명됐을 땐 사나운 사람이었으며 군중들이 공포에 질리게 하는 데 실패하지 않았다. 그는 숙련된 검사이자 궁수라서 위험한 상대였다. 허나 자신의 기사단 동료들 중 대다수가 살해당하는 걸 보자 편집증에 걸려 겁이 많아진다.
His paranoia became such a burden to him that he doubled the patrols in his district and even killed men, simply for wearing clothes that were similar to the Assassins' garments. Sibrand always kept a keen eye on the crowds surrounding him, always expecting his murderer to emerge from them.
그의 편집증은 그에게 부담이 되었고, 그는 구내의 경비대를 늘리는 한편 고작 어쌔신과 비슷한 옷을 입었다는 이유로 사람들을 죽인다. 시브란드는 자신을 둘러싼 사람들을 항상 날카롭게 바라보며, 자신을 죽일 암살자가 그들 사이에서 나온다고 예상한다.
Like his fellow Templars, Sibrand did not believe in a god or an afterlife, claiming that the Piece of Eden had been proof otherwise. He feared death, believing that there was nothing to await him once he passed away.
시브란드는 동료 기사단원들과 마찬가지로 신이나 내세를 믿지 않으며, 에덴의 조각이 그 반대를 증명한다고 주장한다. 그는 자신이 죽고 나면 자신을 기다리는 게 아무것도 없다는 걸 믿기에 죽음을 두려워했다.

Sibrand: Please, don't do this.
Altaïr: You are afraid.
Sibrand: Of course I am afraid!
Altaïr: But you'll be safe now. Held in the arms of your God.
Sibrand: Have my brothers taught you nothing? I know what waits for me, for all of us.
Altaïr: If not your God, then what?
Sibrand: Nothing. Nothing waits. And that is what I fear.
Altaïr: You don't believe.
Sibrand: How could I given what I know? What I've seen? Our treasure was the proof.
Altaïr: Proof of what?
Sibrand: That this life is all we have!
Altaïr: Linger a while longer then, and tell me of the part you were to play.
Sibrand: A blockade by sea, to keep the fool kings and queens from sending reinforcements. once we... once we...
Altaïr: Conquered the Holy Land?
Sibrand: Freed it, you fool! From the tyranny of faith.
Altaïr: Freedom?! You worked to overthrow cities, control men's minds, murdered any who spoke against you!
Sibrand: I followed my orders, believing in my cause. Same as you.
시브란드 : 제발, 이러지 마라.
알타이르 : 두렵겠지.
시브란드 : 당연히 두렵다!
알타이르 : 허나 이젠 편해지리라. 신의 팔에 안겼으니까.

시브란드 : 멍청한 왕과 왕비들이 해군을 보내지 못하게 바다를 막는 거였다. 우리가...그저...

시브란드 : 해방이다, 멍청아! 신앙의 폭정으로부터.
알타이르 : 자유라고?! 네놈은 도시를 파괴하고, 사람들의 마음을 조종했으며, 너에게 반대하는 발언을 하는 자를 죽였잖느냐!
시브란드 : 난 내 대의를 믿고 명령을 따랐다. 너와 똑같아.
Like Garnier de Naplouse and Robert de Sable, Sibrand was a historical leader of the Knights Teutonic. The Teutonic Order was governed by a "Meister Sibrand" between 1190 and 1192.
가르니에 드 나플루스와 로베르 드 사블과 마찬가지로 시브란드도 실제 튜턴 기사단의 대장이었다. "마이스터 시브란드"는 1190년부터 1192년까지 튜턴 기사단을 지배했다.
Sibrand is the only target in Assassin's Creed that can be seen during an investigation memory, though he disappears once the cutscene has finished.
시브란드는 어쌔신 크리드 1편에서 유일하게 조사 메모리에서 등장하는 목표물이지만, 동영상이 끝나면 사라져 버린다.
It was possible to throw Sibrand into the water, though doing so caused desynchronization.

A glitch may occur, during which Sibrand may not be wearing the helmet he put on after killing the scholar.
시브란드가 학자를 죽이고 나서 헬멧을 쓰지 않을 수도 있는 버그가 있다.
Like Talal in Jerusalem and Jubair al Hakim in Damascus, vigilantes attempted to stop Sibrand if he tried to escape from the docks.
예루살렘의 탈랄, 다마스쿠스의 쥬바이르 알 하킴과 마찬가지로 시브란드가 항구 밖으로 도망치려 할 경우 자경단원들이 그를 붙잡으려 한다.
