Tamir

Tamir (c. 1147 - 1191) was a secret member of the Templar Order, and a well-known black market merchant based in the poor district of Damascus, Syria during the Third Crusade.

타미르(1147~1191년)는 성당기사단의 비밀요원이자 3차 십자군 전쟁 당시 다마스쿠스의 빈민구역에 살고 있던 유명한 암시장의 상인이다.

He was the first target assigned to the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, in his pursuit of redemption, and the first major Templar killed in his quest.

Life as a black market merchant-암시장 상인으로서의 삶

Tamir ran the largest black market in Damascus from the Souk Al-Silaah and sold to both Crusaders and Saracens. Some remarked that it may have been the most sizable underground trade in battle arms in the Holy Land.

Tamir was able to acquire almost anything, as long as his buyer was willing to pay the price, but specializing in weapons and armor. He made no apologies for being a death-dealer, and seemed proud of the countless lives that were taken by his weapons. He had no morals and was prepared to do whatever he deemed necessary to increase his profits.

Death-사망

After having learned much about Tamir through his investigations, Altaïr moved into an ornate, sunken courtyard, ready to assassinate Tamir. Tamir arrived shortly afterwards, arguing with one of his merchants. The merchant claimed that he could not comply with the large order that Tamir had demanded of him, stating that Tamir was asking for too much. Tamir, outraged at this excuse, pressed forward, spit in the merchant's face, and drew a knife.

알타리으는 타미르에 관해 충분한 조사를 마친 뒤, 타미르를 암살하기 위해 화려하면서도 움푹 꺼진 안마당으로 이동한다. 얼마 안 되어 타미르가 도착하더니 자신의 동료 상인들과 논쟁을 벌인다. 그 상인은 타미르의 요구가 너무 크다면서 동의할 수 없다고 하는데, 이로 보아 타미르가 지나치게 요구했음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 변명에 화가 난 타미르는 무작정 상인의 얼굴에 침을 뱉고, 칼을 꺼낸다.

He began to mercilessly slice into the merchant, until a final stab sent the man sprawling into the fountain, his blood pooling in the water. Tamir stopped one of his guards from removing the body, saying that it would serve as a lesson for others. He then set off to inspect the other merchant stands in the courtyard.

그가 무자비하게 상인을 베어버린 후 마지막 일격을 가하자 상인은 분수에 큰대자로 쓰러져 피를 흘린다. 타미르는 자신의 부하들 중 한 명을 불러세워 시체를 처리하라고 시킨 뒤, 다른 녀석들에게 본보기가 될 거라고 말한다. 그 후 마당 안에 있는 다른 상인들을 점검하러 떠난다.

The crowd dispersed, and Altaïr quietly moved behind Tamir and executed him with his hidden blade. During his last moments, Tamir claimed his motives to be far nobler than that of profit, stating that he had merely a part to play in his Brotherhood's plan. Tamir soon perished and Altaïr was left to escape from Tamir's guards.

Personality and characteristics-성격과 특징

Tamir was a proud but cold-hearted taskmaster, who would not take "no" for an answer. He had high expectations, and was vicious in punishing those who could not meet them; brutally killing the merchant who could not complete the weapons order for his Templar brethren.

타미르는 훌륭하지만 매우 냉정한 십장이자 "안 된다"는 답변을 용납하지 않는다. 또한 큰 기대를 가지면서도 자신을 만나지 않는 상인이 있으면 사악하게 처벌하는데, (앞과 같이) 성당기사단의 무기를 준비하지 못한 상인을 잔혹하게 죽인 예가 있다.

Unknown to the general population of Damascus, Tamir secretly worked with the Templars, and even at death's door, he insisted his cause was noble. He understood that he was merely a pawn, and warned Altaïr that the "others" would not take kindly to his assassination.

다마스쿠스의 일반적인 인구수는 알 수 없으나, 타미르는 은밀하게 성당기사단에 봉사했으며, 심지어 죽는 순간까지도 자신의 동기가 고귀하다고 주장했다. 그는 자신이 장기말에 불과하단 것도 알고 있었고, 알타이르에게 "다른 형제들"이 그의 암살을 좋게 보지 않을 거라고 경고한다.

Tamir wore an auburn brown turban with a tint of yellow around it. The loose pantaloons he usually wore were a lighter shade of brown, with dark golden inscriptions surrounding it. He often wore a long, rust-colored embroidered tunic, which hung almost up to his knees.

타미르는 적갈색과 노란색이 뒤섞인 터번을 쓴다. 그가 즐겨 입는 헐렁한 판탈롱은 밝은 갈색에 어두운 금색 무늬가 있다. 또한 무릎까지 내려오는 적갈색 자수가 놓인 긴 튜닉을 입는다.

He also wore an orange leather belt with a darker yellow pair of shoes. He was of tall stature, and had a dark brown mustache.

Altaïr: Be at peace.
Tamir: You'll pay for this. You and all your kind.
Altaïr: It seems you're the one who pays now, my friend. You'll not profit from suffering any longer.
Tamir: You think me some petty death-dealer, suckling at the breast of war!? A strange target, don't you think? Why me, when so many others do the same?
Altaïr: You believe yourself different, then?
Tamir: Oh but I am, for I serve a far nobler cause than mere profit. Just like my brothers.
Altaïr: Brothers?
Tamir: Ah, but he thinks I act alone. I am but a piece, a man with a part to play. You'll come to know the others soon enough... they won't take kindly to what you've done!
Altaïr: Good. I look forward to ending their lives as well!
Tamir: Such pride. It will destroy you, child...

타미르 : 흥, 그 영감은 나 혼자 행동한다고 생각했겠지. 난 별 것 아니지만 그래도 그 이상의 일부였다고. 곧 다른 형제들도 알게 될 거야...그들이 네가 한 일에 대해 가만 있지 않을 거다!

알타이르 : 잘 됐군. 녀석들의 삶도 똑같이 끝내주지!

타미르 : 자존심 하고는. 그것 때문에 파멸할 것이다, 애송이...

The name "Tamir" means "The date farmer".

"타미르"라는 이름은 "대추야자 농사꾼"이란 뜻이다.

Tamir is one of the few video game characters actually rendered with chest hair.

타미르는 거리가 가슴팍까지 내려오게 디자인 된 몇 안 되는 캐릭터이다.

Another character of the same name and profession appears in Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles, though he evidently had no actual connection to this Tamir.

어쌔신 크리드 : 알타이르 연대기에서 나오는 이름과 직업이 같은 인물이 있지만, 본 항목의 인물과 직접적인 관련은 없는 것으로 보인다.

The name "Tamir" should be pronounced "Ta-mir" with a short "i" .

Tamir has his own personal bodyguards, who are dressed in crimson red and gold lined uniforms. He is one of five out of the nine to have personal bodyguards; the others being Talal, Abu'l Nuqoud, Majd Addin, and Jubair al Hakim.
